EnergiVault is a revolutionary cold-energy battery for chiller load-shifting. Created by O-Hx, EnergiVault was designed to help eliminate the need to operate industrial refrigerators during peak electricity hours. By shifting operation to off-peak hours, industrial refrigerators will alleviate their demand on the grid during peak times, helping contribute to a more stable and efficient supply of renewable energy by allowing renewable energy to be distributed more effectively.

 

To help O-Hx deliver their vision, we created a bespoke formulation of our Coolblend-TX heat transfer fluid, specifically formulated to achieve the antifreeze properties required for high-density energy storage. Additionally, the system also cools using a natural refrigerant, ammonia, which is sourced from Blended.
